Betty Catherine Hodson, age 79, of Strasburg passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014 at her home.

A memorial service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 10 at Stover Memorial Chapel, Strasburg with Rev. Kevin E. Gift officiating.

Mrs. Hodson was born August 7, 1934 in Virginia, a daughter of the late Charles Marion and Lucille LaFollette Hodson.

She attended the Assembly of God Church, Strasburg and was a member of the Hillbilly Rough Riders. She was retired from Automotive Industries, Inc., Strasburg with 25 years of service and had worked for Mayfair (Greenfield Senior Living), Strasburg with 5 years of service. She was the wife of the late Harry Melvin Hodson.

Surviving are three daughters, Judy Kay Hodson Day of Orlando, FL, Frances Kay Hodson Orndorff of Toms Brook and Janet L. Hodson Shell of Middletown; a sister, Helen Louise Clem of Middletown; four grandchildren, Tammy Alterio, Jason F. Hodson, Amanda Richman and Jennifer Albirght; two great grandchildren, Heavan Alterio and Brody Richman.

She was preceded in death by a son, Melvin Stephen Hodson; two great grandchildren, Isabella Lee Hodson and Lilliana Hope Hodson.

The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home, 177 No. Holliday St., Strasburg on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
