Stella Geraldine "Gerry" Keys, 99, of Front Royal, died Thursday, March 27, 2014, in the Winchester Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home conducted by The Rev. Jim Bunce. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. Burial will be private in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Keys was born October 30, 1914, in Midland, Virginia, devoted daughter of Walter T. and Stella Digges Green. She was a graduate of Strayer University. She retired from BB&T Bank having been employed as a teller as well as in many other capacities. She retired at the age of 89 as the oldest active bank employee in America. Mrs. Keys and her late husband, Robert "Bobby" Keys, operated Bell Clothes in Front Royal for 35 years.
Surviving are her son Robert Green Keys of Midland; a granddaughter Catherine Britton Keys Thodal of Remington and her husband Ryan; two great-grandsons Nicholas Thodal and Connor Thodal both of Remington; a niece Sharon Green Kendall of Chicago; a nephew L. Thomas Green of Warrenton; and a daughter-in-law Ann R. Keys of Blacksburg.
Mrs. Keys was preceded in death by a brother Lawrence S. Green.
Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Aylor, Pete Milor, L. Thomas Green, Ryan Thodal, Marty Zuckerman, Arthur "Bee" Kresge, and Robert "Butch" Eastham.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Warren County, 1245 Progress Drive, Front Royal, VA or to St. Luke's Community Clinic, 316 N. Royal Ave., Front Royal, VA 22630.
Mrs. Keys will always be remembered as a loving wife and mother and a generous and compassionate member of the community.
