Edith Tice North of Huntly, passed away on May 4, 2014 at Warren Memorial Hospital in Front Royal.

Born November 20, 1921 in Oxford, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Linton and Eulalia Tice.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Aubrey J. North, Sr. Together they owned and operated Nish North & Son in Rappahannock County for many years.

Mrs. North has been a member of the Willis Chapel United Methodist Church in Huntly since the late 1940ás. She served her church as a Sunday school teacher, Administrative Board member, church treasurer and various other committees. She was instrumental in refurbishing the church back in the early 1950's.

Surviving Mrs. North are her children: Judith N. Burke and her husband Richard, Bonnie North Hahn and her husband Dean of Huntly, Aubrey J. North, Jr. with Debbie Meade of Culpeper; siblings Pauline Brown and Linton Tice, Jr. of Front Royal, Frances Fravel of Woodstock, and Helen Williamson of Browntown; grandchildren Richard L. Burke Jr., Dr. Juliette B. Myers, Sherry B. Doane, Ashleigh B. Abrams, Benjamin T. Hahn, Alan Hahn, Brian Hahn, K. Danielle North; great grandchildren Emily, Wil and Jack Burke, Drew and Austin Myers, Aubrey Grace Doane, Nicholas and Maya Hahn.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings Harry E. Tice and Beulah Whited.

Family and friends will be received at the Maddox Funeral Home 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday. The funeral service will be held at the Willis Chapel United Methodist Church at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 7, conducted by Rev. Sara Keeling. A lunch will follow at Richard and Judi Burke's home, Sandy Hook in Huntly. Everyone is welcome.
