Robert F. Peters, of Front Royal, Virginia, departed this earth on June 14, 2014. He was 79 years of age.

He was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, the son of Charles and Ida Peters.

He was preceded in death by his brother Chuck Peters, a son Bobby Peters, and a grandson Joey Watson.

He was married to Juanita (Pete) Peters for almost 50 years. Together they have a son Michael Ewanish and his wife Mikki of Front Royal, a daughter Susan Yates of Front Royal, a daughter Robin McNutt of Booneville, Arkansas, and a sister in-law Lynn Weber of Front Royal. He is also survived by a sister-in-law Estelle Peters of Middletown, Delaware, and a cousin Brenda and her husband Walter Haglestein of Middletown, Delaware. They have 11 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

He enrolled in the Marines at age 16 and later with the Army. He was a Korean War veteran and was also with the 67th Ordinance Detachment (Bomb Disposal) at Fort McNair in Washington, D.C.  During that time he was on many presidential details here and overseas. He trained many at the Red Arsenal in Alabama and GSA Office in Washington, D.C. He loved the military and was very proud of all who served. He loved to watch the Military Channel and Fox News, especially Bill O'Rielly.
