Betty Kathleen Boyer Ludwig, 77, of North Chesterfield, VA, formerly of Fort Valley, VA went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 20, 2014.

A graveside service for Mrs. Ludwig will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 26, 2014, at Riverview Cemetery with Pastor Jeff Rose officiating.

She was born on December 13, 1936 in Fort Valley, VA a daughter of the late Ezra Elmer and Elsye Golladay Boyer.

She graduated from Strasburg High School and Winchester Memorial School of Nursing. She enjoyed a long nursing career and retired from the Veterans Administration Medical Center-Richmond.

She was a member of Centralia Presbyterian Church, Chester, VA.

She enjoyed reading, sewing, singing in the church choir and all types of needlework. She was very giving and loved her family.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, James D. Boyer; and her beloved husband of 52 years, Carrol Smith Ludwig, Jr..

She is survived by a daughter, Laura Ludwig Canaday (Kerry); sons, Jeffrey H. Ludwig (Suzanne) and Todd C. Ludwig (Gina); sisters, Lorraine Zirkle of Edinburg, VA and Natalie Blackwell of Chesterfield, VA; grandchildren, Kara and Hunter Canaday, Samantha, Jennifer, and Jeffrey Ludwig, Jr., Tyler and Ashlyn Ludwig, and a host of nieces and nephews.

An open visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, July 25 at Stover Funeral Home, Strasburg, VA.
