Betty Ann Gibson, 83, of Front Royal, Virginia, died Saturday, August 9, 2014, at the Winchester Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 12th at 11:00 a.m. at the Front Royal United Methodist Church conducted by The Rev. Denise Bates. There will be a reception at the church following the service with burial in Prospect Hill Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.

Mrs. Gibson was born May 23, 1931, in Front Royal, daughter of Harry Fox and Cora Elizabeth Rudacille Mauck.

She was a retired accountant for Wayside of Virginia. She also worked in accounting for the Ford Motor Company. She was the gift shop manager for the Skyline Caverns, a volunteer for the Warren Memorial Hospital for many years, a volunteer at Second Chance, and sang with the Front Royal Oratorio Society.

Mrs. Gibson was a very active member of the Front Royal United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Naomi's Circle, was the Church Office Volunteer Coordinator, a member of the Visitation Committee and Fellowship Committee, and sang in the church choir for over 30 years. She was honored to be a recipient of the Service Candle.

Surviving are her daughter, Keren Elizabeth Gibson of Front Royal and a son, Timothy Gibson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Henry Gibson; a sister, Kathleen Mauck Young; and a brother, William Mauck.

Mrs. Gibson was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling, and truly loved to help others. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home.
