Frances Elizabeth Cullers Mauck, 85, of Bentonville, VA passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at her home.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 27, at 11:00 a.m. at Maddox Funeral Home conducted by Sammy Campbell. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery.

Frances Elizabeth Cullers Mauck was born June 6, 1929 at the home of her mother and father, Nettie Chrisman Cullers and Everett Cullers on the family farm in Bentonville, VA.

She was the only daughter and having four brothers the late Thomas "Grayson" Cullers, Merle E. Cullers, Everett "Buck" Cullers, Jr., and Vernon L. Cullers who survives her.

She lived her entire life on the farm and in the house she was born in. She elected to remain home and care for her aging parents and assist her brothers on the farm instead of a career of her own. Many a delicious meal was enjoyed around her kitchen table.

Frances married her childhood sweetheart, Angus "Teeny" Mauck, on November 2, 1974 who survives her. Having no children of her own she was a second mom to Jacqueline Guy and her sister Katie "Kattail" Palmer and loving aunt to Steve Cullers and wife Cheryl; great-aunt to David Cullers, Emily Cullers Walton and husband Robbie; and great-great-aunt to Liam "Sweetpea" Walton. Frances known as "Pan" to us will be missed greatly, her laughter and being a mother hen we thank her for.

Pallbearers will be David Cullers, Robbie Walton, Bryan Chrisman, David Marchi, Robert Hupman, and Vernon "Willie" Leggett.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ira "Bubbie" Fristoe, Eddie Hockman, and Jacqueline Leggett.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 26, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorial contributions be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 West Cork St., Winchester, VA 22601.
