Clyde Waldo McIlwee, Jr., age 88, of Star Tannery, passed away Saturday, March 27, 2010 at his home.

A funeral will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at Gravel Springs Lutheran Church with Rev. Lance Braun officiating. Burial will follow in the Gravel Springs Cemetery.

Mr. McIlwee was born May 5, 1921 in Star Tannery, a son of the late Clyde David and Edna Mae Orndorff McIlwee. He was retired from Avtex Fibers, Inc., Front Royal and was a member of Gravel Springs Lutheran Church. He was the husband of the late Minnie Virginia Fishel McIlwee.

Surviving are two daughters, Thelma Joan Vance and husband, David of Strasburg and Betty Jean Bradby and husband, Marvin of Providence Forge; a son, Jerry E. McIlwee and wife, Barbara of Star Tannery; a brother, Forrest E. McIlwee of Star Tannery; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, David W. McIlwee and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Alan Stevens, Josh Stevens, Mike Cooper, Marvin Bradby, Larry McIlwee and Vernon McIlwee. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Rudolph, Wesley Rudolph, Everett McIlwee, Dean McIlwee, Jason McIlwee, Justin McIlwee, Dennis McIlwee, Buddy Fishel and Allen Fishel.

The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home, Strasburg on Wednesday from 7 to 9 P.M.
