Dennis Lee Roper, 62 of Edinburg, died Tuesday, November 6, 2012, at Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Roper was born September 1, 1950 in Flint, Michigan, son of the late Vasil and Merry Ellen Overman Roper.
He was a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Woodstock.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Sigler Roper whom he married August 4, 1973. Also surviving are a daughter, Kathleen McQuade and husband Philip of Annapolis, Maryland; two sons, Matthew Roper of Bethesda, Maryland and Christopher Roper and wife Jennifer of Fremont, California; two brothers, David Roper of North Carolina and Mark Roper of Maryland; and four grandchildren, Zoey, Hailey, Alexander and Colton.
A funeral service will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Dellinger Funeral Home in Mt. Jackson with Rev. Alexander MacPhail officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Memorial Gardens, in Mt. Jackson.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Roper, Matthew Roper, Mark Roper, Philip McQuade, Ray Clouse and Edward Hosselrode.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
