George W. Trimble, II, age 92, a resident of Strasburg, passed away, Monday, December 10, 2012, at Greenfield Senior Living in Strasburg.

A graveside service for Mr. Trimble will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 14, 2012, at Riverview Cemetery with Rev. Geneal Wilson officiating. Military honors will be conducted by Shenandoah American Legion Post 77, Strasburg.

He was born in Martinsburg, WV on September 8, 1920, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Trimble.

He was a graduate of Massanutten Military Academy, a member of Strasburg Christian Church, a Master Mason of Spurmont Lodge No. 98, Strasburg, and retired from the Northern Virginia Daily as an Advertising Manager. Mr. Trimble was a dedicated member of the Strasburg community having served as a former member of the Strasburg Town Council, Strasburg Fire Department, life member of Strasburg Vol. Rescue Squad and, received a recognition letter from the Town of Strasburg for having 100 years of combined services to the community. He was a proud veteran of the U.S Army having served in World War II, and was a member of the Shenandoah American Legion Post 77, Strasburg and the Front Royal V.F.W. Post 1860.

He was the husband of the late Frances Cornelia Palmer Trimble who preceded him in death on December 11, 2007. In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Doll Trimble.

He is survived by a son, George W. Trimble, III and wife, Jane of Strasburg, VA.
