Daniel B. "Buck" Hallman, our beloved husband and father, went to the Lord peacefully at his home on January 12, 2013 surrounded by his wife and five children.

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at Buckton Presbyterian Church conducted by Pastor Boyette. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 2-3 p.m. at the church. A reception will follow the service at the church fellowship hall.

Mr. Hallman was born May 16, 1932, son of the late Samuel and Sybil Odessa Campbell Hallman. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving two tours of duty in Korea. He retired as a heavy equipment operator and loved to be surrounded by his children and grandchildren. He truly enjoyed being in the outdoors and working in his garden, and there was nothing he couldn't fix. We will never quit missing him.

Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Ireta Hallman; five children, Beverly Hallman Augustine and husband John, William A. Hallman, Jonathan B. Hallman and wife Selena, Belinda "Mindy" Hallman, and Samuel R. Hallman and wife Sarah; one sister, Charlotte Partlowe and husband Giles; nine grandchildren, Jeanette, William (Willie) and wife Tabitha, Jan, Jill, Jacklyn, Devin and husband Michael, Mollee, Samantha, and Daniel; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Debra Hallman; a granddaughter, Jennifer A. Hallman; two sisters, Gladys Powell and Dorothy Nicholson; and two brothers, Samuel Albert Hallman and Roy W. Hallman.

The family will always be grateful for his doctors who have been so good to him for many years, Dr. Keith Wolfe, Dr. John Quinn, and Dr. Richard Ingram, and for the wonderful nurses and doctors at Warren Memorial Hospital who gave their all to get him home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Buckton Presbyterian Church, 2315 Strasburg Road, Front Royal, VA 22630.

Arrangements are by Maddox Funeral Home, Inc. in Front Royal, VA.
