James "Jim" Lee Wright, 82, of Troy, NC, passed away Monday, February 4, 2013 at the Hospice Unit of the W. G. Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury.

He was born September 11, 1930 in Maurertown, VA, a son of the late Marvin Wright and Mary Jordan Romick Wright.

Jim was educated in the schools of Shenandoah County, VA. After completing school he entered the U.S. Army. While serving his country he was stationed in Germany. As a civilian he was a farmer, employee of the U.S. Forest Service and owner of James Wright, Surveyor. James was a longtime member of the First Lutheran Church in Albemarle and a member of the NC Society of Surveyors.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Bowman Wright; and brothers, Richard "Dick" Wright, Donald "Gus" Wright, Wayne Wright, Jack Wright, Jerry Wright and Marvin Wright, Jr.

Left to cherish his memories are two daughters, Barbara (Tommy) Fields of Troy, NC and Peggy Wright (John R). Shute of Knoxville, TN; sisters, Margaret "Margie" Cook of Woodstock, VA, Rebecca "Becky" Lytton of Woodstock, VA, Mary Lou Odum of Welch, WV; brother, Kenneth "Pete" Wright of Staunton, VA; grandchildren, Katie Fields Mazzeo, Andy Fields, Steven Fields, Sarah Shute and Laurel Shute; and great-grandchildren, Luca Mazzeo, Alex Mazzeo and Connor O'Hare-Fields.

Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church, 230 S. 2nd Street, Albemarle, NC 28001 with the Rev. John Futterer officiating.

Burial will be at Zion Christian Church Cemetery in Maurertown, VA at a later date.

Memorials may be given to the First Lutheran Church, 230 S. 2nd Street, Albemarle, NC 28001 and also to the VA Hospice Unit in Salisbury, 1601 Brenner Avenue, Salisbury, NC 28144.
