Sandra Ohlinger Hopkinson, 71, of Earlysville, died at her residence on Wednesday, February 27, 2013.

Sandy was born in Norfolk, VA on July 15, 1941 to the late Earl F. Ohlinger, Sr. and Rachel Bunting Ohlinger. Sandy was also preceded in death by her husband, John M. "Skip" Hopkinson of 45 years and a brother, Earl F. Ohlinger, Jr.

Sandy and her husband were the owners of Charlottesville Bureau of Credits and founders of Valley Credit Service, Inc. Sandy graduated from Suffolk High School and was a member of Chestnut Grove Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children, John Earl Hopkinson and wife Isabelle of Ashburn, VA, William Edward Hopkinson and wife Lori of Earlysville, VA and Elizabeth Ashley Waters and husband Jeff of Louisville, CO. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Charlotte, Sebastien, Caitlin and Jessica Hopkinson and Mitchell and Tyler Waters. Also surviving is a brother-in-law, T. Tiffany Hopkinson and his wife Vicki and a cousin-in-law, Phyllis Hopkinson.

A funeral service will be held 4:00 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2013, at Chestnut Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Lance King officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Hill and Wood Funeral Home.

Memorial donations can be made in Sandra's name to Chestnut Grove Baptist Church, 550 Buck Mountain Road, Earlysville, VA 22936.
