Minnie Kathryn Russell Nesselrodt, age 81, of Frederick County, Virginia, died Saturday, March 2, 2013, at her home.

Mrs. Nesselrodt was born in 1931 in Frederick County, Virginia, the daughter of the late Justice R. Russell, Sr. and June Russell.

She graduated from James Wood High School, Class of 1951, the first graduating class at that school. She was a homemaker, an active volunteer at C-CAP, a faithful blood donor, loved to quilt, crochet, sew and make crafts. She was a life-long member of Calvary Church of the Brethren.

Her husband, Richard Lawrence "Dick" Nesselrodt, whom she married on June 1, 1952, in Frederick County, Virginia, preceded her in death on January 10, 2011.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Lynn Martin (Wyatt) of Brucetown, Virginia; two sons, Richard Lane Nesselrodt (Melanie) of Green Springs, Virginia and Lawrence Keith Nesselrodt of Frederick County, Virginia; 15 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Cupp and Bonnie Knupp, both of Frederick County, Virginia and Mary Lou Huffman of Hartwood, Virginia, and a brother, Justice Roy Russell, Jr. of Frederick County, Virginia.

A daughter, Denise Kay Powell, and a daughter-in-law, Vivian Nesselrodt, preceded her in death.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 7, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Omps Amherst Chapel.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 8, 2013, at Calvary Church of the Brethren with Pastor Clarence Davis and Reverend J. Floyd Wine officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Keith Nesselrodt, Wyatt Martin and grandsons, Matthew B. Ritter, Joshua L. Powell, Ethan J. Nesselrodt, Travis L. Powell, Marvin Ashby, Jr. and Jedadiah C. Ashby.
