Sarah Catherine Strosnider Emmart, age 92, died Monday, September 9, 2013 at the Consulate House in Woodstock, VA.

A graveside service for Mrs. Emmart will be conducted at 11 am Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Riverview Cemetery, Strasburg with Pastor James Basseler officiating.
She was born July 2, 1921 in Strasburg, the daughter of the late James Strosnider Sr. and Virgie Shillingburg Strosnider. She was a lifetime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Strasburg, VA. Sarah was an Award Winning Member of the Massanutten Garden Club as well as Cedar Hill Garden Club where she enjoyed being a holder of the Silver Chalace many times. She also won "Best In Show" awards in the Shenandoah County Fair for her flower arranging. Most of all, she cherished the relationship of close friends in the Garden Club.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry F. "Ike" Emmart of Strasburg, VA whom she was married 72 yrs. Two sisters, Virginia Strosnider Scott and Elsie Strosnider Scott, both of Strasburg, VA. One brother, James Strosnider, Jr. of Woodstock and one grandson Kirk R. Emmart of Strasburg, VA.
Sarah is survived by a son Thomas K. of Strasburg, and Granddaughter Mary-Shannon Mullins and husband Chris, and three great grandchildren, Grace Catherine, Ella Patrice, and Ava Shannon Mullins, all of Strasburg, VA.
