T. Sager Obituary

On Thursday, June 12, 2014, T. Goldyne Buchanan Martin Sager, 87, departed this life for her Eternal Home in Heaven.

The daughter of James Alexander and Ida M. Coffman Buchanan, Goldyne was born January 28, 1927, the youngest child in a family of eight children.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Raymond, Melvin, Charles, Albert, Ralph, and Bernie; and her sister, Hilda Buchanan Reynard.

Valley Funeral Chapel in Edinburg, VA (Bowman's Crossing) will host "family night" Saturday, June 14 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in celebration of Goldyne's life. A graveside service will take place at the Mount Jackson Cemetery on Sunday afternoon, June 15, 2014 at 2:00 with the Rev. Glen Early.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Christopher C. Estep, Joshua D. Burner, James B. Burner; nephews, Ronald W Buchanan, Bernie "Butch" Buchanan, and great-nephew, Donald Buchanan.

Honorary pallbearers are great-grandsons, C. Wyatt Estep and Gage Burner; and a special friend, Victor Moyers.

A marriage on February 1, 1948 blessed her with one daughter, Madlyn Lee Martin Estep. On December 7, 1962, Goldyne married "the love of her life", Norman R. Sager, who survives. Four years later, the family was once again "blessed" with the birth of a second daughter, Adrianne Kelly Sager Burner.

Besides her husband, Goldyne is survived by her daughter, Madlyn and husband Carroll of Mt. Jackson; daughter, Adrianne and husband Danny of Woodstock; grandson, Christopher Carroll Estep and wife Angie of Mt. Jackson, Joshua Daniel Burner and wife Jennifer and James Buchanan Burner of Woodstock and his girlfriend, Crystal Riffey, of Strasburg. Goldyne's granddaughter, Brandy Elaine Burner Walters, has been waiting for "Grandma" in Heaven since 2009. Also surviving are great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Breyden and Trey Estep of Mt. Jackson, Gage Walters of Fort Valley and Emily, Kylie, and "Maddy" Burner of Woodstock; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A special niece, Delores Sager Wean of New Market, has been an attentive "caretaker" of Aunt Goldyne and Uncle Norman.

Goldyne will be greatly missed by three of her dearest âfurry friendsã, two kitties, "Molly" and "Pansy", and her "little companion" and àmost dearly beloved" Pomeranian, "Crystal".

In lieu of flowers, at Goldyne's personal request please make a contribution in her memory to one of these organizations: ASPCA, or Hahn Cancer Center, 2010 Health Campus Drive, Harrisonburg, VA 22801.
