Raymond Kerns Obituary

Raymond Edley "Ray" Kerns, 64, of Stephens City, died Wednesday, November 12, 2014 in his home.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 15, at 2:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home with Pastor Eric Farel and Sammy Campbell.

Ray was born April 7, 1950 in Front Royal, son of the late John W. Kerns, Sr. and Maude Lee Minnix Kerns.

He was a fabricator for Erectors Plus.

Ray loved the outdoors, especially hunting.

Ray was preceded in death, along with his parents, by one brother, John W. Kerns, Jr. and two sisters, Phyllis Ann Brown and Linda Lamb.

Surviving are his loving and devoted wife, Blanche Kerns; three daughters, Dixie Ray Moore of Front Royal, Denise Morrison and husband, Tim, who was like a son, of Cross Junction, and Debbie Krueger of Hedgesville, WV; one son, Kenneth Sorrells of Winchester; two brothers, Norman "Butch" Kerns of Cross Junction, and George Kerns, Sr. of Front Royal; three sisters, Yvonne Smedley and Sandra Williams, both of Front Royal, and Shirley Dillon of Stephens City; twelve grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are being handled by Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal.
