Berg, Stanley Samuel - Fort Walton Beach  
Stanley Samuel Berg 1918 – 2016 Stanley Samuel Berg, age 97, passed away unexpectedly on June 21, 2016. Born in New York City on August 24, 1918, to George and Millie Berg, he is survived by his son, David, and daughter-in-law, Debra Silverman, of Bethesda, MD, two grandchildren, Dr. Melissa Hopkins and Alexandra Berg, and three step-children, Christine, Allan, and Tracey Jirikowic. After graduating from City College of New York, in 1940 Stan married Maxine Smith and soon moved to Washington, DC, in search of work. He began a decorated 30+-year career in federal human resource management in 1940, where at the time of his retirement he was the Director for the Office of Staffing Policies for the U.S. Civil Service Commission. Pausing his career for nearly three years of military service during World War II, he enlisted in the Army in early 1943 and served in the European theatre for two years before his honorable discharge in January 1946. Maxine, a professional artist and mother, passed away in 1968 after a long illness. In 1974, Stan married Doris Jirikowic, a widow, who lived in the same community in Silver Spring, MD. After Doris' children left the house, in 1978 the couple moved to Shalimar, where they engaged deeply with friends and their new community in the greater Ft. Walton Beach area. Doris passed away in 2012. Stan dedicated his time, skills, energy, and ideals to being a positive influence for the betterment of the community, often as an officer or director for local organizations. Stan was proud to be a longtime, active member of the Institute for Senior Professionals, and he was just elected Director Emeritus. He was a longtime member and officer in the League of Women Voters. He for years participated in and taught classes with the Center for Lifelong Learning. He was President of the Mental Health Association in Okaloosa County (1985-86) and was recipient of the Association's Omni Award in 1990 in appreciation for his outstanding contributions "above and beyond extraordinary." He was Vice-Chairman of Kids' Voting in Okaloosa County in 1996. He participated in numerous other contributory activities in the community, helping people learn to drive, do their taxes, and more. He was a beloved member of Temple Beth Shalom. A celebration of Stan's life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 26, at Temple Shalom. Interment will be held at Barancas National Cemetery on Monday, June 27, at 1:15 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to Temple Beth Shalom, the Multiple Sclerosis Society, or a charity of your choice. Beumer, David Ellis "Paw Paw"  
David Ellis Beumer (Paw Paw) 1940-2016 David Beumer, age 76, passed away on June 21, 2016. Dave was born on March 29, 1940 in Florence, Alabama to the late Julius Joseph Beumer and Clara Beumer Bandura. He was the original owner of Kinfolk's Bar-B-Que for 21 years and retired in 2005, where his daughter and son-in-law continue the legacy. Dave served in the United States Army as a medic. Dave was a devoted, hardworking and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed spending time watching his grandkids play sports and traveling with friends. He is preceded in death by his sister, Charlene Moody and brother, Chuck Beumer. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Freda Beumer of Ft. Walton Beach; two daughters and one son, Lisa Enzer (Steve) of Ft. Walton Beach and their children, Ashley Shultz and Brandon Enzer; Angie Childers (Eddy) of Shalimar and their children, Kacey and Zakk Childers; son, Scott Dauphin of Ft. Walton Beach; one great-grandson, Levi Enzer and numerous nieces and nephews as well as so many special friends. The family would like to express their thanks to Dr. Susan Guentzel and the staff of Fort Walton Beach ICU unit for their wonderful care of our Dad. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 1:00p.m. at Emerald Coast Funeral Home. There is a reception to follow after the service at Kinfolk's Bar-B-Que. Black, Ryan Andrew - Fort Walton Beach  
Ryan Andrew Black, age 39, died of complications from a pre-exsiting medical condition on June 16, 2016 in Fort Walton Beach, FL. Ryan is survived by his girlfriend Amanda Shelby and her two children Savannah and Austin of Shalimar, FL; his son Riley Black of Ebro, FL; his mother Judith M. Black of Fort Walton Beach, FL; and his brother Aaron Black of St. Paul, MN. He is preceded in death by his father William Grant Black of Fort Walton Beach, FL. Ryan was born in October 1976, in Port Washington, WI, to parents Judith and William Black. As part of a military family, Ryan spent his childhood living in Wisconsin, Florida, Colorado, Minnesota, California and Portugal. He attended Choctaw High School in Fort Walton Beach. As an adult, Ryan worked as a truck driver, most recently for Sunshine Linens of Fort Walton Beach. Ryan was a loving father to his son Riley and devoted partner to his girlfriend Amanda. Ryan was known for his big heart and touched the lives of many life-long friends. Ryan was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for boating and fishing. Ryan also enjoyed cooking and sharing his culinary creations with family and friends. A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, July 1, 2016, at Emerald Coast Funeral Home, 161 Racetrack Road North West, Fort Walton Beach. Visitation is from 2:00-3:00 with a memorial service at 3:00pm. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Ryan's life.

Boldin, Jenett D. - Mary Esther  
Mrs. Jenett D. Boldin age 62 of Mary Esther, Florida was called to her final resting place June 25, 2016 at the Fort Walton Beach Medical Center. A celebration of life service will be held Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Beulah First Baptist Church located at 109 N.E. McGriff St., Fort Walton Beach. Family will receive guests at the church one hour prior to service.

Brogan, James Franklin  
James Franklin Brogan, age 83, went home peacefully on the morning of June 21, 2016. He was under the care of Emerald Coast Hospice Care and we are so thankful to them and to our many friends. James "Jim" was born in McDunn, West Virginia on September 5, 1932 to Otis and Lucy Brogan. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Therla; sons Steve and his wife Leitha, and Dave and his wife Ginger; brothers Bob, Bill, and Pat and sister Louise; sister in law Mavis Morgan and her husband Jerwell; grandchildren Bryan Brogan, Stacy Forsthoefel and her husband Kevin, and Bud Brogan; great grandchildren, Austin Mayo and Jack Forsthoefel; and many cherished nieces and nephews. He retired with the US Air Force after 20 years and then worked with Casey Electric for another 20 years. He really enjoyed restoring classic cars and working in the garden. He was a faithful member of Woodlawn Baptist Church where he loved meeting with his men's Sunday school class and singing in the choir. Funeral service will be held Friday, June 24, 2016 from the chapel of Brackney Funeral Service at 11:00am with Pastor George Katzman officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday, June 23 from 6 pm to 8 pm at the funeral home.
