Master Sgt. U.S. Air Force
(retired) Carey Earl Quick, 63, passed away at his home in Navarre, Fla., on Nov. 23, 2013. Carey was born in Alva, Okla., on Nov. 19, 1950, to Earl Quick and Mary Ophelia Quick. He was raised in Bennettsville, S.C., by Miss Mary Henderson and is a 1970 graduate of Bennettsville High School. Shortly after graduation, in 1971, he entered the U.S. Air Force where he honorably served his country for the next 24 years. Master Sgt. Quick served many assignments as an Aerospace Ground Equipment Technician to include tours in the Philippines and Thailand and stateside assignments in Illinois, Nevada, Delaware, and North and South Carolina. Master Sgt. Quick is survived by his three sons, Paul of Navarre Fla., Scott of Navarre, Fla., and Jeff of Virginia Beach, Va.; and their mother, Margaret Adams. He is also survived by six granddaughters; three grandsons; and one great-granddaughter; and many other relatives and friends that he loved dearly. Carey was a member of Shalimar Baptist Church in Shalimar, Fla. Visitation will be held on Dec. 1, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Emerald Coast Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Shalimar Baptist Church on Monday Dec. 2, at 11 a.m., with graveside services to follow at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola Fla., at 2 p.m.
