Harold Aubrey Ammons, 66, of Destin, Fla., passed away Jan. 27, 2013. He was born in Montgomery, Ala., on Nov. 23, 1946.
Harold was a veteran of the U.S. Army
and was the owner of Destin Roofing, Inc. for the past 32 years. He was a member of numerous business organizations. He had a passion for vintage automobiles, music and family.
Survivors include his children, Melissa Ammons, Holly Ammons, and Mattie Dozier; two grandchildren, Laslie Harp and Shelby Ammons; four sisters, Jewel Ingle, Jerry Chavers, Peggy Jones, and Iris Bethea; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at Leak-Memory Chapel. Burial will follow in Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers were Gary Ingle, Brian Bethea, Adam Bethea, Phillip Reeves, John Sullivan, and John Simmons. Honorary pallbearers were employees of Destin Roofing. Memorial contributions may be made to Williams Syndrome Association, 570 Kirts Blvd. Suite 223, Troy, MI 48084. A memorial service to be held in Destin will be announced at a later date by the family.
