James Marion Joyner(1931 - 2013)

Mr. James Marion Joyner, age 82, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013. He was born Jan. 12, 1931, in McDonough, Ga., to Thomas and Leila Moore Joyner.
Mr. Joyner was a resident of Walton County. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving his country in the United States Navy. He worked as a Computer Operator Manager for many years before retiring. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and working in the yard.
Mr. Joyner was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Barbara Joyner, of 57 years; two sisters, Mary Dollar and Joann Morton; two brothers, Gerald Joyner and Donald Joyner; and one son–in-law, Rick Essig.
Mr. Joyner is survived by his three sons, James Joyner, Jason Joyner and wife, Calley, and John Joyner and wife, Kay, all of DeFuniak Springs, Fla.; three daughters, Pat Joyner of DeFuniak Springs, Judy Essig of Zion, Ill., and Paula Trapp of McDonough, Ga.; three brothers, John Thomas Joyner and wife, Helen, Carlton Joyner and wife, Pat, and David Joyner and wife, Milian; one sister, Jeanette Goodman; 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation services will be held 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013, at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Ave., DeFuniak Springs, FL 32435.
Funeral services will be held 4 p.m., Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Ave., DeFuniak Springs, FL 32435, with the Rev. Ben Barton officiating.
Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery with military honors.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Joyner, Jason Joyner, Mark Smith, Mark Trapp, Justin Essig, James Joyner, Jason Joyner and John Joyner.
Floral arrangements are being accepted.
