Jimmy Michael Fernandez, 57, of Mossy Head, Fla, was called home to be with the Lord on Nov. 19, 2012.
Jim was born on April 5, 1955, in Raton, N.M., and grew up in Cimarron, N.M. After joining the Army
and meeting his wife, Sue, he moved to Florida in 1984. Jim was a local plumber who was known by all as a cowboy who loved his ranch and his horses. He was a devoted husband, father, and Popel to his grandkids. All who knew Jim loved him and will miss him dearly.
He is preceded in death by his father, Santiago Jim Fernandez, and his mother-in-law, Peggy Fleming. Jim is survived by his mother, Adelia Fernandez of Cimarron; his wife of 29 years, Rhonda Sue Fernandez of Mossy Head; his children, Michael Fermin and wife, Heather, of Okinawa, Japan; Sharla Fermin of Orlando, Fla., Jonathan Fernandez of Mossy Head, Fla., Adelia Slade and husband, Nick, of Crestview, Fla., and Kristina Fernandez of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; and by five grandchildren who he loved unconditionally, Connor, Savannah, Crystal, Parker, and a new one on the way. He is also survived by his siblings, Lillian, Dorothy, Mary Ann, Leroy, Sammy and Veronica all of New Mexico, and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and in-laws.
A visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, at Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home in Crestview. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Crestview, with burial to follow in Crowder Chapel Cemetery in Mossy Head.
Daddy, you always kept us laughing and we knew how proud of us you were. We will miss you and you will forever be in our hearts.
