Robert V. von Kleist, age 89, passed away peacefully at his home in Niceville, Fla., on March 27, 2014. Born and raised in North Tonawanda, N.Y., Bob was preceded in death by his three older siblings and wife of 48 years, Eunice Harriet Bauer von Kleist. He is survived by his daughter and her husband, Patricia and Philip Fralix of Niceville, Fla.; his son, David von Kleist of Argentina; grandchildren, Dianne Fralix, Taylor Pramik and her husband, Gabriel Pramik, Cullen Fralix and Erica von Kleist; great granddaughter, Kennidy Pramik; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bob was a retired U.S. Air Force
fighter pilot, earning numerous decorations during his 31 years of service. As a true adventurist, he enjoyed camping, competitive boating, fishing, gold mining and many entrepreneurial endeavors.
A memorial mass celebrating Bob's life will be held at Christ Our Redeemer Catholic Church, 1028 White Point Road, Niceville, Fla., on April 12, 2014, at 10 a.m. The family invites all that knew him to attend, then gather at the home of Patricia and Philip Fralix to share their memories of this wonderful man. In lieu of flowers, donations to Christ Our Redeemer Catholic Church would be appreciated.
