Wesley Atherton Bond, age 85, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., passed away at the George and Margaret Morris Hospice Center in Jacksonville, Fla., 32209, on Feb. 3, 2013.
Wes was a member of Alpha Masonic Lodge 172 F. & A.M., York Rite Bodies, Fort Walton Beach, Shrine Club and Sabre Jet Unit, Fort Walton Beach, Ambassador for Hadji Temple A.A.D.N.M.S., Pensacola, Fla.
Wes had a total of 30 years of service in the military including the Navy during the World War II
, Army in the Korean Conflict
, Air National Guard, and the Air Force during the Vietnam Era. In the Air Force, he served in law enforcement and after retirement, he worked 15 years as a Federal Police Officer
at Eglin Air Force Base.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Valeria Anna Bond, of 49 years; his parents, Lewis and Winifred Bond; and his foster mother, Mildred A. Cooper. He survived by his nieces, Pia Fico of Jacksonville; Ana DeAngelis of Cranston, R.I.; and nephews, Vincent Baccari, Jr. of Kingstown, R.I., and Giorgio Radin of Trieste, Italy.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., followed by the Masonic Chapel Service conducted by the members of Alpha Masonic Lodge No. 172 on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at Emerald Coast Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be conducted at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, Fla., on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, at 11:45 a.m. with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Hospice of Northwest Florida, 101 Hart Street , Niceville, FL 32578, or to Shalimar United Methodist Church Building Fund.
