In loving memory of Lorna Hendrix.
Lorna Jean McFadden-Hendrix was born on Dec. 28, 1959, to the union of Henry McFadden Jr. and Louise Parnell McFadden in Uniontown, Pa. On June 9, 1990, she met and married her husband, Lee Hendrix, at Fort Myers, Va.
Lorna was a born-again Christian and an avid Bible study student. She attended and worshipped faithfully at Calvary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Mark Stevens.
Lorna received her formal elementary and high school education in New Salem, Pa. After high school she furthered her education by obtaining her bachelor's degree in biology from California University of Pennsylvania. In addition to receiving her bachelor's degree she went on to obtain a master's degree in Acquisition Management from American Graduate University. Lorna was employed by the Department of the Air Force Federal Civil Service as a GS-13 Procuring Contracting Officer, where she moved from PKE to work in aerial targets. She loved her job and always strived to be the best. While employed by the Department of the Air Force, she won numerous accolades and awards, including the Contracting Specialist of the Year while working in Operational Contracting on Eglin Air Force Base. She was also recently nominated for the Annual Contracting Award for 2011.
Lorna will be forever remembered by her family and friends, loving heart, sweet humble spirit and her love for the Lord.
Lorna resided with her family in Crestview, Fla., until Jan. 8, 2012, when God quietly called her home. The surviving family would like to extend a very special heartfelt thank you to the Eglin AFB community and especially the Calvary Baptist Church family, friends and relatives, PK Contracting family, and Aerial Targets Office who've given everything of themselves and spared no expense in meeting our family's needs during this trying and difficult time. Simply stated, there's no way we'd have made it through this ordeal – Thank You and God Bless You All!
Every human being without exception is assigned to Heaven by God our creator; but as Lorna did, each person must choose to make the journey, and it's only through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ that the journey can be made! May each one reading this choose to make Heaven their eternal home by accepting Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior. As Lorna would no doubt say; "LOOK," make the right choice - today! That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10: 9-10.
