Allen Jack Adams (1937 - 2013)

Mr. Allen Jack Adams, age 76, passed away Aug. 15, 2013. He was born Jan. 11, 1937, in Lockhart, Ala., to Alver and Alma Hart Adams.
Mr. Adams was a resident of the Bridge Creek Community. He was Baptist by faith and a member of the Sandy Creek Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the Armed Forces serving his country in the United States Air Force for over 20 years before retiring as an E-6. He also worked with the Civil Service for 18 years in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning at Eglin Air Force Base. He was the Chief of Civil Engineering at Duke Field (East West Complex) and was also a member of the Masonic Lodge F&AM #157 in Ponce De Leon, Fla. He was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed hunting. One of his favorite saying was "Jesus loves you."
Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his parents and wife of 57 years, Sylvia Adams.
Mr. Adams is survived by his two sons, James Donhue Adams of Ponce De Leon, and Allen Jackson Adams and wife, Starlet, of Sumter, S.C.; two daughters, Phyllis Van Winkle of DeFuniak Springs, Fla., and Patricia Pryor and husband, Keith, of Darlington, Fla.; one sister, Jree Scott of the Bridge Creek Community; five grandchildren, Rochelle, Jared, Amanda, Christopher and Sierra; and 10 great-grandchildren, Brody, Natalie, Brandon, Hayley, C.J., Summer, Gavin, Jaylen, Jewel and Jade.
Visitation services will be held 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Parlor; 230 Park Ave., DeFuniak Springs, FL32435.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Gary Scott and Toby Stone officiating.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Pryor, Jared Hougland, Troy Andrews, Jerry Alford, Charles Alford and Ricky Andrews.
Burial will follow at Sandy Creek Baptist Cemetery.
Floral arrangements are being accepted or donations may be made to Sandy Creek Baptist Church Building Fund at 1125 County Line Road, Ponce De Leon, FL 32455.
