Charles Marello, age 65, passed away early Wednesday morning, Oct. 16, 2013. Charles was born July 26, 1948, in Medina, N.Y. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and retired after over 30 years of dedicated employment with the U.S. Postal Service. Charles was an avid sports fan who enjoyed exercising and fishing, but his true passion became spending time with his grandchildren who affectionately called him "Papa."

Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Bartholomew and Mary Virginia Marello. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Eileen; their children, Andrew Marello and wife, Kristen, of Jacksonville, and Charles Marello, Jr., and wife, Allison, of Niceville; and grandchildren, Brock, Andrew, Sara and Mason.
The family extends a special thank you to the Emerald Coast Hospice for their help and care.
There will be a visitation from 5 to 7 p.m., on Monday, Oct. 21, 2013, at Heritage Gardens Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m., on Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013, at Christ Our Redeemer Catholic Church in Niceville. Interment will follow in Heritage Gardens Cemetery.
