James Alfred Northerner, 84, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., passed away at home on Monday, June 24, 2013.
James was born May 5, 1929, in Cannelton, Ind., to James Allen Northerner and Nellie Ioma Northerner. He was married Dec. 24, 1955, to his loving wife, Julia.
A retired chief master sergeant in the United States Air Force, James was a veteran of World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War and a recipient of the Bronze Star.
A Christian by faith, James was also an avid hunter and fisherman and a member of the National Rifle Association.
James is survived by his loving spouse, Julia G. Northerner, Fort Walton Beach; children, James E. Northerner, Kenneth W. Northerner and Robert J. Northerner; grandchildren, Kenneth J. Northerner and Cristina I. Northerner
He is preceded by his siblings; William Northerner and Beatrice Johnson.
Funeral services were held at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Fla., on July 2, 2013.
