James (Jim) Martin, 69, of Shalimar, Fla., passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and two daughters at 3:30 p.m., on Thursday, July 25, 2013. after a battle with lung cancer.

Jim served 20 years in the U.S. Air Force from 1964 to 1984. He was a Vietnam Veteran. In addition to his service in the Air Force, he also worked at OTI/General Dynamics from 1984 to 2005.
He was a member of the Emerald Coast Harley Owners Group (HOG) from 2003 to 2013. He served as webmaster for many years. He was also an Amateur Ham Radio Operator (N4BRP).
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis M. Martin and Lois B. Martin, of Waycross, Ga. He is survived by wife, Lois (Penny) Martin; his oldest daughter, Pamela Hendrix, of Sharpsburg, Ga.; son–in-law, Todd; three granddaughters, Brooke, Taylor and Chandler; his youngest daughter, Wendy Boland, of Loganville, Ga.; son-in-law, Jay; and four grandchildren, Kyle, Jessica, Brody and Jake. He is also survived by two sisters, Carolyn Wimbley and husband, Gene, and Karen Skinner and husband, Frank; and brother, Timothy martin; in addition to several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 27, 2013, at 2:30 p.m., with a celebration of life service at 3:30, at Emerald Coast Funeral Home, 113 Racetrack Road, N.E. Fort Walton Beach, Fla.
