Mr. Leonard Johnson, age 92, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2014. He was born June 24, 1920, in Walton County, Florida to Jesse and Daisy Drake Johnson.
Mr. Johnson was a lifelong resident of Walton County. He was a veteran of WWII, serving his country in the United Sates Army as a Sergeant. He worked as a civil engineer with Civil Service at Eglin Air Force Base. He enjoyed all outdoors, fishing, hunting and gardening.
Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters Susie Padgett, Mable Slay, Effie Johnson and Minnie Miller, and one grandson Glen Willis, Jr.
Mr. Johnson is survived by his daughter Thelma McArthur and husband Charlie of Laurel Hill, Florida and three grandchildren Glenda Willis, Charlie McArthur and Donald McArthur.
Visitation services will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 12, 2014, at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home, 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 13, 2014, at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home with Reverend Joel Glenn officiating.
Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery with military honors.
Floral arrangements are being accepted.
