Linda Geller passed away on April 28, 2014, after an illness.
Linda was born on July 31, 1955, in Cleveland, Ohio, to William and Adele Racz. After graduating from Fairview Park High School, she enlisted in the United States Air Force. She was stationed at MacDill Air Force Base, Fla., becoming the base's first female security police officer. While at MacDill Air Force Base she met her future husband of 40 years, Benjamin Geller. Linda left active duty in 1977 to raise her children but continued her dedication to the military as a military spouse and a civil servant. During this time, she graduated from Troy State University with a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration. Linda medically retired as an Air Force civilian with 29 years. She worked for over 20 years for AFSOC Headquarters at Hurlburt Field, Fla. She enjoyed watching classic movies, collecting shells from the beach, crafting, gardening, Fort Deposit Fishing and trips to Biloxi.
She is predeceased by her parents and her granddaughter, Haile E. Geller.
Her memory will live on in those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband, Ben; her daughter, Stacy (Drew) Ramsey of Fairfax, Va. ; son, Andy (Jonann) Geller of Gulf Breeze; grandchildren, Destiny McWhorter, Byron McWhorter, Blake Ramsey and Andrew Geller, Jr.; brother, William Racz (Rose) of Navarre; sister, Jean Thoma (Rich) of Fairview Park, Ohio; brothers-in-law. Ed Davis (Lisa) and John Geller of Dawsonville, Ga., along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2014, at 4 p.m., at Lewis Funeral Home, Navarre Chapel with military honors, Janet Robb, officiating. Visitation will begin at 3 p.m., prior to the service.
The family would like to send a special thanks to the medical professionals and friends that went through this journey with our family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the HHT Foundation,, in her memory.
