The Guest Book is expired.
Norman was born Nov. 10, 1928, to Chester and Ruth Bennett of Quincy, Mass. His love of the sea and sailing drew him to work as a lobsterman and clam digger in the Quincy area. He was known for his artistic abilities and enjoyed hand lettering friends' boats and pinstriping motorcycles and cars. In later years this led to a career in sign painting, eventually bringing him to the Florida Gulf Coast. Along the docks of Destin, he was sought after for his talent and was affectionately known as "Preacher". He also proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. While lobstering in the Boston Harbor, he met and married Carole Margaret Kelley, and they led a full and exciting life raising four children.
In 2004, he suffered the loss of his beloved wife. He is preceded in death by two brothers, Chester and David. He is survived by his four children, Charles, Richard, Deborah and Dawnadee; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and his younger brother, Bobby.
