Dina Beesley, 38, beloved daughter of Ricky and Diane Beesley of Bluewater Bay, Niceville, Fla., died Monday, Sept. 19, 2011.
Dina was born in Columbus, Ga., on Oct. 1, 1972. She and her parents moved to Niceville in 1973. Dina graduated from Niceville High School in 1991. She attended Northwest Florida State College and Troy University, majoring in criminal justice. Dina owned a small painting and construction business for several years, working in Sandestin and Seaside, Fla. Dina and her husband became truck drivers, traveling across the United State and Canada with their dog, Scrappy. Dina was a devoted animal protector. She cared for numerous pets and abandoned animals. She was an avid reader. Her favorite book was "To Kill a Mockingbird," which made a profound effect on her life. She also loved computer games and bicycle riding.
"Remember I will still be here, as long as you hold me in your memory. I am the one star that keeps burning so brightly. It is the last light to fade into the rising sun. I'm with you whenever you tell my story, for I am all I've done. Remember I'll never leave you if you will only remember me."
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman Thames; grandfather, Gilmore Beesley; uncle, Mark Parker; and great- grandmother, Ethel Bailey. Survivors include her father, Ricky Beesley; mother, Diane-Parker Beesley; grandmother, Dot Parker; grandfather, C.J. Parker, grandmother, Patricia Beesley; uncles, Scott Parker, Jerome Beesley and Robby Beesley; aunt, Kendra Campbell; great-aunts, Fay Kilgo and Lindsey Parker; great-uncle, J.E. Bailey; and numerous cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Heritage Gardens Funeral Home, 2201 N. Partin Drive, Niceville, Fla.
Funeral services take place on Friday, Sept. 23, at 2 p.m. at Heritage Gardens Funeral Home Chapel, 2201 N. Partin Drive, Niceville, Fla. Interment will immediately follow at Heritage Gardens Cemetery.
