Dorothy "Louise" Lovell (Walton), 86, went to be with the Lord on March 7, 2014. She was a lifetime resident of Okaloosa County and was the daughter of William Lee "WL" Walton and Laura Davis Walton.
The Guest Book is expired.
Louise was born in Garniers, Fla., on Oct. 12, 1927. As one of the original members of Niceville, she spent her years giving back to the community.
Louise retired from the Okaloosa County school district in 1979 after serving for many years at Ruckel Jr. High School.
Louise was a member of Niceville Church of Christ and touched countless lives during her involvement with the Helping Hands Ministry. Louise was also known for her involvement in the Niceville High School annual reunion program, her delicious home cooking, stories of her adventures with her sisters around Turkey Creek, and her love for eating fried mullet with her family and friends.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, great-grandmother and friend to all who knew her. She touched many lives, but we know she is at peace with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Louise was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Thomas Huel Lovell; sisters, Helen Hicks, Rosa Lee Neal, and Estelle Mills.
Her family includes her son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Brenda Lovell of Niceville, Fla.; granddaughter, Michelle and husband, Cody, of Gainesville, Fla.; great-grandson, Cole Helmer of Gainesville, Fla.
Visitation will be held at 1 p.m., with a Celebration of Life following at 2 p.m., on Sunday, March 9, at the Niceville Church of Christ (801 John Sims Pkwy). Interment will follow in Early Cemetery.
Flowers may be sent to the Niceville Church of Christ, or donations can be made to the Mission Trust Fund at Niceville Church of Christ.
You may go online to offer condolences to the family and sign the guestbook at www.heritagegardensfuneralhome.com. Heritage Gardens Funeral Home of Niceville is entrusted with the arrangements.
