Glenn Alan Morris, age 55, of Crestview, Fla., lost his hard fought battle with cancer on Dec. 18, 2013. He was the devoted husband of 30 years to Cheryl Ann Bacon, and loving father to Alana Shea Morris, and Evan Nathaniel Morris. A native of East Tennessee, he was the son of Carl B. Morris, and the late Betty Reed Morris of Jonesborough, Tenn. He leaves behind one brother, Steve Morris and wife, Debbie, of Telford, Tenn.; and one sister, Sheri Kress and husband, Joel, of Elizabethton, Tenn.; as well as four nephews, and two great-nephews. His dedicated in-laws are Stanley and Cassie Bacon of Crestview, Fla.
Glenn was a long time member of Woodlawn Baptist Church in Crestview and felt very blessed to have the outpouring of support from them. He was an employee of L3 Communication Crestview Aerospace and was also a State of Florida Certified Mechanical Contractor.
For the last three years he has been building the family home, even during the past year while traveling to receive treatments to battle his cancer. Glenn was known as a quiet, kind man who would drop everything to help someone in need. Glenn's wish was for everyone to enjoy time with their families this holiday, so a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Anyone wishing to do so can donate in his honor to: Cancer Freeze, POB 92, Florala, AL 36442, where Glenn was to be one of the nine recipients for 2014, or , 2008 Charlotte Ave. Nashville, TN 37203. The Morris family would like to sincerely thank the doctors and staff of Tennessee Oncology in Nashville, Tenn., the doctors and staff of Florida Cancer Specialist and Research Institute in Gainesville, Fla., Sacred Heart Oncology in Pensacola, Fla., the nurses and staff on 2 West at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, and the wonderful, caring staff of Covenant Hospice in West Florida Hospital, Pensacola, Fla.
