James Malcolm ""Jim"" Boughner (1938 - 2013)

Mr. James "Jim" Malcolm Boughner, age 75, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013. He was born July 4, 1938, in Freeport, Mich., to Malcolm O. Boughner and Irene O'Casey Boughner.
Mr. Boughner was a resident of Walton County. He was Baptist by faith and a member of the Friendship Baptist Church. He graduated from Texas Baptist College receiving his degree in Bible Education. He worked in maintenance at Florida Transformers for many years. He also worked as a Correctional Officer for both Walton and Okaloosa County Institutes. He enjoyed wood working, restoring cars, and traveling. He especially enjoyed being a witness for Christ. He was involved in a dedicated prison ministry for several years. He also enjoyed his two poodles, Abby and Daisy.
Mr. Bounghner was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Alan Boughner; and one great-grandson, Jayden Swafford.
Mr. Boughner is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Sue Boughner of DeFuniak Springs, Fla.; three daughters, Cindi Smith of Texas, Candy Swafford of Michigan and Vicki O'Dell, one son-in-law, Bob O'Dell both of Navarre, Fla.; one brother, Bill Boughner and wife, Miranda, of Atlanta, Ga.; two sisters, Bridgett Quimby and MaryAnn Selee and husband, Jim, of South Carolina; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation services will be held 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, at Friendship Baptist Church; 2415 County Highway 1883, DeFuniak Springs, FL 32433.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, at Friendship Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnmark Brown officiating.
Burial will follow at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Zachary O'Dell, Jim O'Dell, Rome Garrett, Wilton Wooten, Ronald Edwards, Samuel Hobbs, and Ralph Laird.
Floral arrangements are being accepted or donations may be made to the Youth Fund at Friendship Baptist Church; 2415 County Highway 1883, DeFuniak Springs, FL 32433.
