The Rev. Johnnie Ervin Griffith Jr., age 80, of Crestview, Fla., passed away March 4, 2014, at home with his family by his side. The Rev. Griffith was born Dec. 17, 1933, in Orangeburg, S.C., he moved to the area in 1973 from Range, Ala. He was the builder and founder of numerous churches to include some in Mexico and various areas of the U.S. He was an Evangelist, Pastor and owner of J and D Motors. He worked as an Air Policeman in the United States Air Force. He served as town councilman and interim Deputy Sheriff for Okaloosa County. He was a member of The American Legion and Woodman of the World.

The Rev. Griffith is preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie O. Griffith and Hazel E Proveaux Griffith.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Wynnette J Griffith; two sons, Jonathan Griffith and David Griffith; five Daughters, Rebekah D. Davis, Cynthia G. Rish, Deborah J. Bishop, Patricia Rourk and Johnnie Ruth Davis; one brother, Robert Lee Griffith; three aunts, Ibby Myers (Orangeburg), Margaret Ann Vaughn (Orangeburg) and Gladys Wilkerson (Florida); and 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 7, at The Victory Baptist Church at 12 p.m., with Dr. Terry B Batton officiating. Burial will follow in the Heritage Gardens Cemetery in Niceville, Fla.
The Family will receive friends from 6 p.m., until 8 p.m., Thursday, March 6, at Brackney Funeral Service.
