Joseph Francis Konchalski

1934 - 2011

Mr. Joseph Francis Konchalski, age 76, of Miramar Beach, Fla. passed away July 15, 2011. He was born Sept. 24, 1934 in Bronx, N.Y. to Joseph Marion Konchalski and Anna Lewandowski.

Mr. Konchalski was a resident of Miramar Beach for the past 8 years, moving here from Monroe, Ga. where he lived for 16 years. He was Catholic by faith and a member of the St. Rita Catholic Church. He also was a member of the American Legion, the 1013 Society, the NYPD Pulaski Society and a former member of the NYPD TPF. He was a 28-year Air Force veteran and a proud member of the New York City Police Department for 27 years.

Mr. Konchalski was preceded in death by his father and mother, Joseph Marion Konchalski and Anna Lewandowski; one sister, Doris Patricia Soscia; and brother-in- law, Robert Eldrett.

Mr. Konchalski is survived by his wife of 50 years, Virginia Catherine Rosado Konchalski; brother, John Louis Konchalski and his wife, Deborah of Bohemia LI, N.Y.; brother-in-law, John Rosado; sister, Lorraine Ungarino and husband, Paschal of Sandestin, Fla.; sister-in-laws, Josephine Rosado and Katy Eldrett; nephews: Christopher James and wife, Janice; Thomas Jude and wife, Ellen; Matthew John and wife, Julie; James, David, Michael and John; nieces: Stephanie Ann, Nancy Jane, Diane Mary, Lorraine Joan, Debbie, Gloria, Lisa, Sandy, Karen, Elaine, Karen and Donna. He is also survived by his best buddy Cosmo II.

Visitation services will be held 10 to 11 a.m., July 19, 2011 at St. Rita Catholic Church 137 Moll Drive; Santa Rosa Beach, Fl 32459.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., July 19, 2011 at St. Rita Catholic Church with Father Tom Collins officiating.
Burial will follow in the Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, Fla. with full military honors.
