Mr. Oliver Dee Crews of Panama City Beach, Fla., passed away on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013. He was 93. Graveside services will be held on Monday, Sept. 2, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Elbert Smith officiating and Pittman Funeral Home of Samson, Ala., directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Samson on Monday, Sept. 2, 2013, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m.

Mr. Crews was born in Geneva County, Ala., on Oct. 11, 1919, to the late Willie Lee and Ada Bell Holley Crews. Mr. Crews was a graduate of Auburn University with a degree in agriculture. He was a veteran of World War II having served in Patten's army. When he returned from the war, Mr. Crews worked in Mexico in the research of hoof-and-mouth disease. His love of flowers led him to become a florist until his retirement. He was a member of the Seagrove Baptist Church, Panama City Beach, Fla.

He is survived by one sister, Katie Crews of Samson, Ala.; one brother, Marcus Fox Crews (Nome) of Samson, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews.
