Robert Earl Edwards (1945 - 2013)

Mr. Robert Earl Edwards, age 68, passed away Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013. He was born April 19, 1945, in DeFuniak Springs, Fla., to Jerry and Callie Hardy Edwards.
Mr. Edwards was a lifelong resident of Walton County. He was Baptist by faith and a member of Southwide Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Era serving his country in the United States Navy on a United States Navy Destroyer. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge F&AM # 369 of Callaway, Fla. He was a 32 degree Scottish Rite Master Mason. He worked in air conditioning with Sears and the Walton County School Board for many years. He enjoyed raising catfish, providing cookouts for his family and friends.
Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Kenneth Randell Edwards, Donald Edwards and Larry Edwards; and one sister, Linda Nelson.
Mr. Edwards is survived by his two sons, Robert 'Eric" Edwards and wife, Heather, and Jerry Vanice Edwards all of DeFuniak Springs; one daughter, Angela Dreading an husband, Timothy, of Crestview; two brothers, Daniel F. Edwards and Gary Dale Edwards both of DeFuniak Springs; four step-brothers, Ike Bird, James Bird, Danny Bird and Joe Bird; one sister, Kathy Brown of West Virginia; and nine grandchildren, Jade Edwards, Gavin Fleet, Kyle Ely, Katie Weekley, Jacob Edwards, Jessie Slay, Stetson Edwards, Seth Edwards and Brianna Dreading.
Visitation services will be held 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Ave., DeFuniak Springs, FL 32435.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013, at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Ave., DeFuniak Springs, FL 32435 with the Rev. Ike Bird officiating.
Burial will follow at Alaqua United Methodist Cemetery, with Military Honors and Masonic Rites at graveside.
Floral arrangements are being accepted.
