Mr. Ruben Walker Brown, age 79, passed away Friday, March 28, 2014. He was born September 30, 1934, in Eucheanna, Fla., to Clyde and Clara Bray Brown.
Mr. Brown was a lifelong resident of Walton County. He was Baptist by faith and a member of Indian Creek Baptist Church. He was very talented as a handyman in air conditioning, electrical, gas pumps, plumbing and construction, having built his own home. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and cooking. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and going to church.
Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 46 years, Eloise Brown; two sisters, Gertha Baylet and Dorothy Brown; two brothers, John Allen Brown and James Ned Brown.
Mr. Brown is survived by one daughter, Melissa Brown of Pensacola, Fla.; his fiancée, Carolyn King; one brother, Grady Brown, and wife, Carolyn, both of DeFuniak Springs, Fla.; six sisters, Thelma McGough and husband, Thelem, of Wetumpka, Ala., Evelyn Loquercio, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., Faye Thomason, Becky Miller and husband, Leslie, both of Freeport, Fla., Lottie Johnson and husband, David, and Littie Mobley both of DeFuniak Springs, Fla.
Visitation services will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, March 31, 2014, at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel at 230 Park Ave, DeFuniak Springs, FL 32435.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Scot Keppel officiating.
Burial will follow at Lime Springs Cemetery in Samson, Ala.
Pallbearers will be Russell Knight, Cameron Johnson, Jason Adkinson, Vince Brown, Elliott Harrah and Michael Trammell.
Floral arrangements are being accepted.
