Steve Brewer, age 85, passed away Oct. 29, 2009.
He was born on April 19, 1924, in Dorcas, Fla., to Aaron and Liza Mitchell Brewer. Mr. Brewer lived most of his life in Walton County. He was Assembly of God by faith and a member of Liberty Assembly of God Church, where he served as a Deacon for over 20 years and he dearly loved attending church and serving the Lord. He worked for the Department of Transportation for over 33 years before retiring. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and loved spending time with his family. He was a veteran of the Armed Forces, serving his country in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Brewer was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, John L. Brewer, George Brewer and James Brewer; and three sisters, Mary Alice Cramer, Martha Jane Taylor and Bertha Johnson. Mr. Brewer is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Iva Jean Brewer of Liberty, Fla.; one brother, Enoch Brewer of Crestview, Fla.; one sister-in-law, Blondell Norton and husband Lynn of Temple, Ga.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A time of visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home, 230 Park Ave., DeFuniak Springs, Fla.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2, at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeff Cain officiating. Burial will follow in Cluster Springs Cemetery.
Floral arrangements are being accepted.
