The Guest Book is expired.

As dawn was breaking Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, Donald A. Kelly left his earthly years and struggles behind, gladly answering the Lord's beckoning call to rest.

Don was born to Flake and Addie Lou (Williams) Kelly in Tupelo, Miss., Sept. 9, 1939. He graduated from Tupelo High School(1957) and Mississippi State University (1961). Don moved northward settling in the Quad Cities where he and his wife, Jean, raised their two daughters.

Don and his two partners formed Dadco Corp. in Davenport, Iowa, retiring in 1997.

In 2000, Don moved with his wife, Karla, to Freeport, Fla., where they shared 12 years of beautiful sunrises and sunsets from their home on the bay.

Those who knew Don recognized his enjoyment of people and readiness for a good laugh. One friend stated of Don "We laughed with him, at him and sometimes in spite of him." The stories abound as did his love and concern for his family. Don was always positive. He became acquainted with many in all phases of the medical community in the last few years and was always thankful and gracious to people in those difficult times. To all who touched his life, thank you.

Don is survived by his daughters, Paige (Tim) Steffl of Naperville, Ill., and Meigan Kelly of Chicago, Ill.; grandchildren, Alexa and Cole Steffl; his wife, Karla, of 20 years; and sister, LouEllen(Bill) Derden, Tallahassee, Fla. Other survivors include nieces, Kathrine and Celeste and their families, Jean Kelly, Davenport, the mother of his children; former sister-in-law and brothers-in-law; as well as numerous relatives of his wife, Karla.

Memorial services will be held later in the year. Any donations may be made in Don's honor to The Fisher House of the Emerald Coast, Box 2007, Eglin Air Force Base, FL 32542 or to the Winn-Dixie , 2121 S.W. 16th Street Gainesville , FL 32608 (designate restricted to , Gainesville).

and mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess within the veil,
a life of joy and peace."
