On June 29, 1986, JaWon Le'Shay Smith entered this world to the joy of his parents, John L. Smith and Sharon Govan-Smith, in San Anto-nio, Texas, at Brooke Army Medical Center.

He was a 2004 graduate of Niceville High School and was currently honoring his country by serving in the United States Air Force from 2004 to the present. His assignments included Kunsan, Korea, and a deployment to Dover, Del. He was currently stationed at Hurlburt Field.

He married his wife, Jennifer, and they birthed a beautiful son, Camron Jordan Smith, in 2009. He was a loving husband, father, son and friend.

He was baptized on July 25, 2004, by Chaplain Major Donnette Boyd at Post'l Point, Eglin Air Force Base, Fla.

He will be most remembered for his unconditional love for his family, whom he devoted his life. His greatest joys in life were spending time with his wife and the priceless moments spent with his son, whom he adored. He will forever remain in our hearts. Our loss is heaven's gain.

On Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, God in His infinite wisdom called a man of God from his earthly home to his heavenly home. He leaves to cher-ish his memories a wife, Jennifer Smith; son, Camron Jordan Smith; father, John L. Smith; mother, Sharon Govan-Smith; one brother, Sen-ior Airman Demetrius S. Smith, Universal City, Texas; and numerous relatives.

A burial service will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014, at Barrancas National Cemetery, Naval Air Station Pensacola, Fla., at 10:15 a.m. A Memorial Celebration Service will be held at 2 p.m. at the Hurlburt Field Chapel, with a repast to immediately follow the service.
