Eddie Lou (Evans) Hackett passed away peacefully on April 4, 2014, at William Childs Hospice House near Melbourne, Fla.
Eddie Lou was born in Walton County, Fla., one of 12 children, on June 11, 1920, daughter of Dave and Rebecca (Brown) Evans. She lived 91 years in DeFuniak Springs, Fla., and the remaining years of her life in Melbourne. She is predeceased by her husband, Robert Hackett, and all of her siblings.
She was a long-time member of First Presbyterian Church of DeFuniak Springs and involved in vari-ous church activities. She was a member of the "Love" Women's Circle. She loved sewing, quilting, oil and china painting, and all aspects of home life and was always ready to cook for a gathering. Her gar-dens and flowers brought her great pleasure and pride.
She is survived by her two sons, Robert Jr. (Bob) and his wife Judy; and David (Butch) and his wife Johnnie Mae. She is survived by four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A time of visitation will be held, 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel at 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, FL 32435.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, April 10, 2014, at the First Presbyterian Church at 1063 Circle Drive, DeFuniak Springs, FL with the Rev. Michael Moore officiating.
The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Presbyte-rian Church in DeFuniak Springs, FL, in memory of Eddie Lou Hackett.
