Doris Cox, age 76 of Baker, Fla., passed away Thursday morning, April 24, 2014, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on May 25, 1937, to Thomas and Dorothy Matsukado. Doris has lived in the Baker area for the past 49 years. She helped her husband, Buddy, run and operate their business, Sunshine Exterminators. Doris loved to work in her yard, but most of all she loved her kids and her grandkids. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sons, Bubu Stanley Harrington, Kahler Harrington, and Duke Harrington; three son-in-laws, Steve Davis, Carl Veasey and Tony Talley; and two brothers, Kenneth Matsukado and Mervin Matsukado.

Doris is survived by her husband of 46 years, Buddy Cox; children, Stanette Stanley and husband, Steve, Kathy Veasey, Doreen Davis, Tommy Harrington and wife, Joyce, and Carrie Talley. Also surviving are her sister, Dottie Cardoza, and brother, Harold Matsukado. Doris leaves behind her precious 18 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Doris's life will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2014, at 3 p.m., at the Chapel of Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home with the Rev. Fred Sanford officiating. A time of visitation with the family will begin at 2 p.m.
