Faye Lundy, 81, received her crown of life on June 8, 2014, when she went home to be with Jesus. She passed away at home surrounded by her loving family, as were her wishes.
Born to Edard and Catherine Locke on June 13, 1932, Faye was loved by all who knew her. She modeled Christian service through her life of love, humility and industry. Her faith in God was unshakeable and her love for Him undeniable. She delighted in His word and sang His praises with joy.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents, Edard and Catherine Locke, and her granddaughter, Anna Faith Lundy. Survivors include her brother, William J. Locke and wife Ivis; her sister, Ruth Towery and husband Don; her four children, William Gregory Lundy and wife, Reba, Anita Faye Michelsen and husband, Rolf, Dexter L. Lundy and wife, Martha, and Cheryl Denise Purvines and husband, Mark; nine grandchildren, Terri, Jessica, Alyson, Gregory, Erika, Ethan, Savannah, Conrad, and Dakota; and two great-granddaughters, Dylan and Alex.
Faye was an active member of Clear Springs Assembly of God Church for many years and served the church as pianist. In 2001, she retired as general manager from Auburn Water System after 27 years of service.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, June 11, 2014, and services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 12, 2014, both at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Old Bethel Cemetery.
