Gwendolyn Garrett Jones, gardener, southern cook, and proud grandmother, died on Thursday, June 19, 2014, at age 59.
The Guest Book is expired.
Gwen loved spending time outside. She would plant just about anything, from zinnias to rosemary. She was never one for color coordination or premium seeds. She spent many hours each week making sure her bird feeders were full. She especially enjoyed gardening with her two grandchildren, Jacen and Jesse. They were the apple of her eye.
Gwen loved to cook, and when she did, she cooked for an army. She always said, "You never know who might stop by." Her cuisine of choice was always southern. She had deep love of fried pork chops, turnip greens and cornbread. She was proud of her homemade pepper sauce collection she had accumulated from many of her friends.
She preferred to live life foot loose and fancy free. In her prime, she could be found most weekends wearing blue jeans and flip flops with a fishing pole in her hand. Some of her biggest weekend decisions involved deciding between crickets, worms or both.
Gwen is survived by her sons, Jared and Justin; sisters, Sue and Cheryl; brother, Keith; grandchildren, Jacen and Jesse; nephew, Brandon; niece, Britney; many cousins and other loving family.
