The Guest Book is expired.

Elizabeth (Betty) Ann Kennedy was born on May 21, 1930, in Baltimore, Md. She defied the inevitable until her passing on July 3, 2014. She is predeceased by her father, Andrew N. Hoffman Jr.; and her mother, J. Elizabeth Thompson.
She is survived by her loving husband, John A. Kennedy. She was the loving mother of Sandra M. Kennedy, Allison D. Futterer with her husband Ted, and Richelle C. Kennedy; devoted grandmother of Steven T. Futterer, Gregory M. Rose, Nicholas J. Futterer and Shelby M. Rose; and proud great-grandmother of Jada Mae, Samantha, Izzabella and Eleni.
Betty's husband since Christmas Eve, 1955, recounts: I remember her putting everyone else ahead of herself. I recall how she, as a military wife going overseas, hung in there, come what may. She waited until our daughters got through high school before she re-entered college and graduated with honors. During college, she had to fulfill a physical education requirement, which she did by taking beginning swimming. She fell in love with the sport and went on to compete until the age of 79. She earned 160+ gold medals, ranking in the Top Ten nationally as a Miler Master Swimmer, up until her last day. She felt that she was a "Pensacola Pirate" swimmer. Always competitive, she attained her goal of getting back in the pool on June 27, 2014. The three rings that she wore to show her undying love were engraved, "TODAY," "TOMORROW," "FOREVER."
A memorial service will be held July 12, 2014, at home from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Please contact the family at 850-865-8920, or 850-865-3002. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make donations to PAWS or Wounded Warriors in her honor.
