Gloria Scalzitti Walker, 85, of Shalimar, Fla., passed away Monday, July 14th, 2014, at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center after having a sudden stroke on Saturday. Gloria was born in Jeannette, Pa., on Sept. 11, 1928. She was the third sibling of the late Amato and Noble Scalzitti. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, William Walker, son David Walker, daughter-in law Melanie and adored grandchildren Gianna and Dario. Gloria and Bill's other two sons, Tom the oldest, and Rick the middle son, each passed away years before, Rick in 1979 and Tom in 2008. She was also preceded in death by her brother Arthur in 2004. Gloria was inspirational. If you didn't know about the tragic loss of her two sons, you would never know it from her positive and cheerful attitude. Gloria is also survived by her brother, Richard Scalzitti of Houston, Texas and her sisters Loretta Scalzitti of Jeanette, and Carol Holden of North Huntington, Pa.
Gloria was very involved in her community, most notably as a longtime active member of the local Sons of Italy organization. Over the years Gloria also held offices in the Sons of Italy Grand Lodge of Florida. She was a longtime member of the American Business Women's Association, Fort Walton Beach Chapter. Gloria was a warm and beautiful individual with a zest for life and full of energy. She was always the first to welcome others and make them feel at home. She graciously volunteered her time to lend a hand with anything that needed to be accomplished. Gloria was a fun loving and loyal friend, a dedicated and loving wife and mother and a very proud grandmother.
